Volcano Pause

Yesterday two new fissures opened up in Leilani Estates, but have since quieted. No more structures have been destroyed. Earthquake activity has calmed too. And though things appear to have stopped, they haven't. The cracks on the streets have widened overnight. And at the volcano summit, lava is still receding down the crater throat.

The lava level in Halema'uma'u has fallen so far that very little now shows on the cameras.

All photos are from USGS website.
