Hurricane Lane

The entire State of Hawaii is due to be affected by the latest hurricane coming our way. Hurricane Lane. It's due to pass south of the islands, but will bring high winds, high surf, and plenty of rain.

11 o'clock this morning, I noticed a change in the winds. Ah, the leading edge of the storm. It's a warning to get ready. I'm as ready as I plan to be. The farm will ride it out. Just what it needs, more rain.

  1. Thinking about you and your farm as this storm heads your way. Perhaps it will turn out to sea.

    1. Thanks for your thoughts. The hurricane center is out at sea, thankfully. But we are still expecting winds and heavy rain. And pounding surf.

    1. Thankfully the main force of this hurricane is missing the islands. But it still could be quite damaging. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

  3. When the Navy puts the big ships to sea, you know it will be very rough for Kauai and Oahu - hope it loses its punch before those islands get hit.

    1. Barry, my sentiments too. Kauai and Oahu look to be in the line of danger. This hurricane is dangerous. The big ships are out of port. The inter island ferries stopped running. A lot of small boat owners have been removing their boats from the water. People along the coast are preparing for flooding. The coastal parks are all closed.
