Paint Can Trick

I'm sure others have hit upon this trick, but I just thought if it. Yeah, I'm a late bloomer, I know.
I often lose the name of the paint I'm using. It's written on the lid, but over time the label either gets covered over in paint, gets wet and disintegrates, or gets too dirty to read. So I use to write it down someplace. But you know what happens of course, I lose the paper I wrote it down on. When I painted my barn, I wrote the info down right on the inside wall. Less apt to get lost.

Somehow. A lightbulb went off inside my head and I thought that clear packing tape would be a good idea. Tape over the label then it can't wear off, get too dirty to read, and any paint could be wiped right off. So I'll give it a try.

  1. Good idea - I had a few old cans of paint that had drips that ran down, leaving only the word "terior" visible, so they got dropped at the recycle place. Hmmm, maybe you write the name on the bottom of the can, less likely to get obscured, especially with a strip of tape over that?
